Louis van Gaal’s side has been given a major boost by Jorge Mendes, as they managed to keep hold of Spanish international David de Gea, by extending his current contract. As per the claims from Madrid-based paper El Confidencial, one of the world’s most well know agent, had a major fallout with La Liga giants Real Madrid after their failure to sign the 24 year old superstar.
The former European champions tried to push a £29m deal through late on, yet a delayed response from the Red Devils saw the Spaniard to eventually stay at Old Trafford. The Spanish outfit further released a statement blaming the Premier League club, but according to this report, Mendes blamed Florentino Perez and the Real officials.
Well, one thing good for the fans of the Manchester based side would be that his fallout with Real is good news for United, who saw their favourite goalkeeper make his debut for the season against fierce rivals Liverpool.
De Gea will not leave Old Trafford on a free transfer anymore and if he repeats his performances from last season, Madrid will have to splash a good chunk of money to land the Spaniard. A win win situation for the Red Devils.
