Ramos looked to be heading out of Madrid after Benitez took charge, as the Red Devils looked keen on signing him in order to strengthen their defensive line. There was some discontent, due to delayed contract talks, which had put Louis van Gaal’s side on high alert.
Well, talking about the whole transfer saga, the former Napoli boss told Onda Cero radio, “I fought more than anyone for Ramos to stay. There are absolutely no problems between us. He’s our captain, an outstanding footballer and he has to keep showing that”.
