Revealed: Star Midfielder Preferred Arsenal Over Manchester United but Wenger Refused to Sign Him

After the loss to Greek champions Olympiacos on Tuesday evening in the second match of the Champions League group stages, Arsenal fans could still not understand why Arsene Wenger did not sign an outfield player in the summer transfer window. The Arsenal main-man had said earlier that he had enough players in his squad already for midfield places and there was no need to add more.

However, one man who could made a major difference to the Gunners’ squad this summer was Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin. Not only is he part of the French national side, but he is that good on the ball as well in games, which has helped Manchester United who grabbed the opportunity to sign him.

Also, the former Saints’ man has a homegrown status as well, which makes the 25-year-old midfielder a perfect buy for any side, not just Wenger. However, the French manager for some reason was reluctant to pay the £25m asking price and Schneiderlin eventually joined the Red Devils.

It has now been reported by the Evening Standard, that the Frenchman was keen on joining the north London side, before Louis van Gaal’s side came calling for him. Well, why Wenger did not sign him, still remains to be a mystery that some of us Gooners will never understand, no matter what Le Boss says.
