It seems that Liverpool scouts were at the Estadio do Dragao watching Portuguese outfit Porto play in their Champions League group game as they produced yet another superb performance to secure a 2-0 win over Maccabi Tev Aviv. The Mirror reports that the Reds were monitoring the progress of Porto’s 18-year old midfield starlet Ruben Neves.
There were no speculations of a previous bid, though the club was always keen on brining him to Anfield, as soon as possible.
With the arrival of new manager Jurgen Klopp, it seemed the Merseyside club did not lose their interest in the Portugal U-21 international and would continue their pursuit of signing him.
He was originally been spotted as one for the future by ex Kop boss Brendan Rodgers, though it seems now the former Borussia Dortmund boss wants him as well. The Premier League outfit made an informal approach for Neves last week and it seems that his representatives encouraged talks as well.
What happens next remains to be seen, as Porto would not been too keen on losing the youngest skipper in Champions League history.
