When asked about the best option in the midfield, the Spanish playmaker was not short of option. Having played with Xavi, Andres Iniesta and many legends, it was a tough choice for the ex-Gunner.
Fabregas played alongside Flamini at Emirates Stadium before his eventual transfer away from the north London club in the summer of 2011 and he has declared that Mathieu Flamini is the best midfield player he has ever lined up alongside in his career.
Speaking to Football Daily, Chelsea midfielder Fabregas said: “I had two years playing next to Flamini and he covered me. He covers so much ground.
“If I say Iniesta or Xavi – yeah it’s fantastic for the eyes but in real football it’s not real for me.
“But if I had to choose one it would have to be between Gilberto Silva and Flamini.”
