Report: Rangers eyeing move for erstwhile Celtic star Dylan McGeouch

Rangers News: Rangers are interested in Sunderland midfielder Dylan McGeouch according to the Scottish Sun. The ex-Celtic midfielder is also wanted by fellow Scottish outfit Aberdeen and English clubs QPR, Blackburn Rovers and Brentford according to the report.

The 26-year-old looked completely out of sorts this season for the Black Cats as he made only 22 appearances with no real impact.

And the Scotsman looks to reinstate his career elsewhere next season as his contract expires this summer. A youth product of both the Old Firm clubs, McGeouch found his niche with Hibernian, where he made more than 100 appearances.
And during his spell with the Hibs, the Scottish international was deployed more centrally, sacrificing his traditional position of attacking midfielder.

Should the Gers move for McGeouch?

With Southampton-bound Steven Davis set to make his return to the Premier League this summer, McGeouch can fill the Northern Irish man’s void on a permanent basis.
And he holds a wealthy amount of Scottish football experience, which Steven Gerrard can definitely make use of.

The former Liverpool star endured a decent debut campaign at Ibrox with a lot of positive takeaways despite ending up with no silverware.
