According to the latest reports, Arsenal are on the verge of completing their first major signing of the summer as French star Mathieu Debuchy has already completed medical. Only with few formalities pending, it is believed that Arsenal will officially announce the deal by this weekend.
Arsenal will pay £8m to Newcastle United upfront to obtain the services of Debuchy but the total value of the deal may rise upto £12m due to add-ons and bonus clauses in the contract.
Mathieu Debuchy is good at both defending and attacking, which will add balance to Arsenal’s gameplay. His premier league experience will enable him to settle quickly at Emirates. The French star will instantly replace Bacary Sagna who left to Manchester City.
These reports also suggests that after Debuchy, Arsenal’s next signing will be Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez. Reportedly, the Chilean star has agreed terms with the North London club and Arsenal will pay a huge transfer fee of £32m to Barcelona in this deal.
