Report: Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo set to join Rangers on loan

Rangers News: Rangers are set to receive the services of Liverpool youngster Sheyi Ojo on a loan deal, according to The Daily Record.

The 21-year-old is set to sign a new deal with the Reds before moving to Glasgow.

Ojo has recently ended his loan spell with Ligue 1 side Stad De Reims.

Upon signing for the Merseyside club in 2015, the English prospect was subsequently loaned to various clubs that include Fulham and Wolves.

But Ojo failed to create a big impact on the clubs he visited and was often used as a substitute.

He has represented England at various age levels and also indicated that he could play for Nigeria in future.

How will Ojo fit in Gerrard’s 11?

The Gers are looking forward to their next season with the arrival of new signings.

The Lights Blues’ wingers Scott Arfield and Daniel Candeias have already crossed the 30s mark and can’t commit themselves to the club’s long future.

It will now provide room for Ojo to rejuvenate himself as a player at Ibrox.

He has the tendency to operate on the left flank but it will be difficult to beat the likes of Ryan Kent and the newly acquired Jake Hastie.

Steven Gerrard is indeed off to a great start as a manager at Ibrox despite ending the season without any silverware.

The former Liverpool star has made a string of new signings and the idea is apparent that he wants to build the side around young talents.
