Report: Leeds United among a swarm of English clubs to sign this Bolton Wanderers’ teenager

Leeds United News: Leeds United are interested in Bolton youngster Luca Connell, alongside a swarm of clubs that include Tottenham, reports The 72 UK.

After getting promoted to the Bolton Reserves squad, Connell soon enjoyed promotion to the first-team this season.

Connell, 18, progressed through the youth ranks of the Wanderers and represented Northern Ireland internationally at various age levels.

A centre-back by tradition, the English teenager can also play as a full-back and as a defensive midfielder.

Given that Connell’ s contract is due up this season, plenty of English clubs were put on alert.

Why should Leeds move for Connell?

Leeds have gained the reputation for nurturing young talents and bringing them to the spotlight and Connell could be next on their list.

Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton made their senior debut this season and had a massive impact at the Elland Road club.

Connell certainly has the attributes that will make him a perfect fit for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.

It is expected that the English teenager will first join the reserves. Any quick progress could earn him a place in the first-team soon.

The Whites are making their best efforts to reach Premier League next season after beating Derby County in the playoffs 1-0 in the first leg. Kemar Roofe scored the only goal of the game.
