According to the latest reports, if Arsenal’s mission of bringing back Cesc Fabregas to Emirates fails, they will turn to
Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, who is expected to leave Madrid this Summer.
Arsenal have a first refusal clause on Fabragas’ contract, means, the gunners will be given the first preference if they decide to make a bid. But, there is a high chance that Cesc may stay put at Barcelona for atleast another season.
Meanwhile, Sami Khedira is struggling to earn proper game time with Los Blancos. His injuries and poor form doesn’t help his clause either. So, he may move elsewhere in Summer to get more game time. The German international just have one year left in his contract and he could be sold for fee as cheap as £15million this summer.
Even though Fabregas is a world class player, Arsenal already have enough playmakers in the squad and what they need more is a defensive body in the midfield who can break opponent’s play. Considering this, Sami Khedira is a perfect fit for the gunners as he has all the required attributes to replace ageing Arteta in Arsenal’s staring lineup.
Sami Khedira became the 4th German player to win the Champions League with a non-German club (Völler, Illgner, Hamann). Hungry.
