According to the latest reports, Arsenal are planning to make a shocking bid for Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

This is a double delight deal for the Gunners  as Ivanovic has super versatility to play well both as a right back and also as a central defender. This means Arsenal can have a single replacement for both Sagna and their club captain Vermaelen who is rumored to be leaving the club this summer.

Ivanovic’s Chelsea future is in doubts as Mourinho prefers Gary Cahill and John Terry as first choice central defenders and  if the blues manage to sign a left back in the window, Azpilicueta may take up his favorite right back role, pushing Ivanovic out of the starting XI.

Arsenal are now ready to take advantage of the situation and will do their best to lure the Serbian defender away from Stamford Bridge.
