Chelsea are keen on signing the out of favour Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian, in the January transfer window according to reports from Calciomercato (cited by the Sunday World)

The Italian defender has not featured in the Premier League for Jose Mourinho’s side this season and it looks like the Portuguese manager does not have any plans for the player hence he may be allowed to leave the Red Devils in January window.

The report from Calciomercato did not put any light on the details of the deal regarding the amount that Chelsea will have to pay for the player’s move out of the Old Trafford. Although it does claim that Napoli and Juventus too are keen on signing the player and are monitoring his situation at United.

Darmian joined United from Torino in a deal worth £13m in 2015 under former manager Louis Van Gaal. However, his future now seems to be away from United.
