Celtic FC News: Celtic have been reportedly keeping tabs on MLS striker Alberth Elis, claims The Sun.
The Honduran striker has been watched by the Scottish giants, claims Hoops defender Emilio Izaguirre, the former’s compatriot.
The 32-year-old is nearing towards his Park Head exit after falling down the pecking order long ago.
His appearances were just limited to just 17 across all competitions this season.
And the Celts left-back told, (h/t The Sun)
Celtic have asked me about a few players from Honduras.
“They’ve asked me several times about Elis. Who knows? Maybe one day they will sign players from Honduras like me.
Elis, who currently plays for Houston Dynamo, has bagged four goals and four assists in just eight appearances this season.
The 24-year-old joined the MLS in 2017 and has never ceased to score goals in the following seasons.
Elis has also represented Honduras at various age levels and has an astounding goal tally of 26.
Neil Lennon should reinforce his side in the upcoming season to continue the clubs’ long-running glory.
Despite lifting the league title for the eighth time in a row, the Bhoys aren’t the complete attacking side, as they rely heavily on Odsonne Edouard and James Forrest.
And exciting signings like Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah were flattering to deceive.
Having said that, Lennon should bank on a versatile forward and Elis fits the bill.
Furthermore, the Honduran striker also could play a major role in the clubs’ quest for European glory in the forthcoming campaign.
