Report: Arsenal’s Bid Accepted Finally

According to the Metro, Arsenal had agreed a £14 million transfer fee with German champions Bayern Munich for their versatile defensive midfielder Luiz Gustavo. After failing with recent bids for Luiz Suarez, Gunners would be happy that one of their bid got accepted finally.

Even after playing so well in last few seasons, Gustavo is still struggling earn a permanent place in Bayern’s midfield. Such is the depth of the treble winners. So a move to Arsenal would be a beneficial one for the hard tackler’s career.

Arsenal are without a traditional defensive midfielder since Song left for Barcelona. Arteta has done a fair job as a defensive mid for the gunners but it is always better to have an orthodox defensive midfielder who can enforce the game from the center of the pitch and provide enough cover for the defenders.

This would be a good deal and a good player to get, but if we’ve learned anything this summer, it’s that no matter how much noise there is around a possible move, it doesn’t mean anything’s necessarily actually happened. So we shall see.

In other news, Crystal Palace have confirmed the capture of Marouane Chamakh from Arsenal after the striker fell out of place at the Emirates. Manager Ian Holloway has confirmed the signing on an initial one year deal.

Chamakh becomes the seventh player for Palace after getting promoted to the Premier League this season. Earlier Palace had signed Jose Campana, Stephen Dobbie, Dwight Gayle, Elliot Grandin, Kevin Phillips and Jerome Thomas this summer. The Moroccan had signed for Arsenal on a free transfer from Bordeaux in Ligue 1 in 2010 on a free transfer. He has had a tough time for the Gunners during these three seasons and this move will come as a welcome break for him.
