According to the latest reports, Arsenal consider Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira as one of their prime summer transfer target.
A Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo has reported that Arsenal star Mesut Ozil will play a key role in persuading Khedira to join the North London side. Currently, both the stars are on world cup duty as Germany get ready to face France in an epic quarter final fixture.
Khedira missed more than half of the last season due to a knee injury. Reportedly, Real Madrid are very close to sign Bayern Munich star Toni Kroos. This means, Khedira’s good time at Bernabeu may finally come to an end this Summer.
Khedira is an all round defensive midfielder with good passing and ball winning skills. He will easily fit into Arsenal midfield.
Few months back, Khedira even spoke about Arsenal.
He said,
“There is a real German influence [at Arsenal] now, with Per Metersacker, Lukas Podolski, Mesut and also younger players coming through. They are the sort of players Arsenal need if they are to win trophies”
In other news, Arsenal are interested in signing Chilean pair Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal.
