Ciprian Marica could be on his way to Emirates.
The transfer window was closed a week ago, but premier league clubs are still allowed to bring in free agents to their squad.
According to the latest reports, Arsenal are negotiating a deal for Romanian striker Ciprian Marica who is a free agent now after leaving German club Schalke in the summer.
Marca reported that Arsenal are the clear favorites to sign the 27 year old front man even though West Ham are also interested to sign Marica .
Marica’s agent Ioan Becali also hinted that big European clubs including Arsenal are chasing for his client’s signature.
He said ( according to Prosport.ro ),
“Marica is a really great striker who has already got experience in western European football and so it’s natural that big clubs are eyeing his career,”
“He’s close to joining Arsenal, but we have to wait for the next week.”
Marica who scored for his country in their win against Hungary on Friday has an impressive international goal scoring record with over 22 goals in 63 games. Addition of Marica will add further depth to the Arsenal squad and he will also be a good backup for inform striker Giroud.
