REPORT: Arsenal To Make This ‘French Dani Alves’ Their First Summer Signing

Latest rumors suggest that Bacary Sagna may join Manchester City on a three-year deal with £150,000-per-week salary. Arsenal seems to have already scouted a potential replacement for the 31 year old right back.

Daily Star claims that Toulouse ace Serge Aurier will be Arsenal’s first signing in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Serge Aurier has all the required attributes to replace Sagna at Emirates. He is an offensive wing back who likes to make regular over lapping runs in wings. Capable of picking precise though ball or a dribbling past opponents, Aurier’s offensive output is far greater than most full backs and his tally of six goals and six assists in his 34 League games this season is a testament to that. Deservingly, French media describes him as ‘the Dani Alves of Ligue 1’.

In a recent interview, Serge Aurier openly admitted his desire to join the North London club.

He said,

“It is certain that I would be a little disappointed to stay in Toulouse, especially after a season like this,”

“It has never been my priority (moving to a club in England). I prefer one that shows its commitment to me, who guarantees me playing time. I would not refuse Arsenal. This is a club that has a history, which has hosted many French-speakers who also have a French coach. Plus Arsenal is always looking for titles and playing in the Champions League.”
