According to the latest reports, Arsenal are planning to make a 16 million bid Everton midfielder James McCarthy.
We all know Arsenal need a new defensive midfielder and it looks like Wenger is finally ready to make a real attempt at bringing in a DM in the January window.
McCarthy only joined Everton from Wigan last year in a £13m deal and he has been very consistent for Everton this season. Even though Arsenal’s 16 million bid is just 3 million more than his £13m price tag, the cheeky bid may still tempt Everton management to sell the 24 year old star as they can make a quick profit without any risks.
McCarthy injured his hamstring against Wolfsburg on Thursday night (Europa league) and will miss at-least next 3 weeks of action but that won’t deter Arsenal’s attempt to sign him as he is expected to return to full fitness well before the January transfer window begins.
