Arsenal have completed the signing of Greek defender Elias Chatzitheodoridis from his local club Mas Kallitheakos according to reports from Metro. The Greek, is a 17 year old left back, and having impressed the Arsenal staff in a training facility back in Greece, the Gunners have roped in the youngster, who might be sent out on a season long loan to continue his development before being shipped to England for the Premier League showdown.
Looks like Arsene Wenger has kicked off the Summer window in a traditional way by signing a youngster. Chatzitheodoridis had a trial in London recently before he put pen on papers which is believed to be a two year deal.
A youngster and particularly a left back, is probably the last thing that Arsenal fans would want to hear at the moment. With a need to sign a quality replacements for the departing Sagna and Fabianski, the signing of Chatzitheodoridis might raise a few eyebrows.
But with World Cup to start in a few days, the big signings are never easy to come by. Let us just wait and hope that Arsene Wenger keeps his word and brings in some big names.
