According to the latest reports, Arsenal are back in the race to sign Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. Earlier in the transfer window, the Real Madrid forward was constantly linked with a move to Emirates but the rumors have calmed down of late. Now, things are again getting heating up in the media as Arsenal are linked with a move for two promising youngsters in Europe – Draxler and Morata.
Morata would be a decent backup for Olivier Giroud and the move would be a beneficial one for Morata too as he is struggling to get game time with Madrid, fighting for a place with the likes of Benzema and Jesse. Loan move with a buy-out option is still possible.
Meanwhile, reports from Germany suggest that Arsenal are very close to sign Julian Draxler from Schalke. It is believed that the gunners have launched an initial bid of around €30m (£25m) which is far below the asking price of €45m (£37m). Even though this bid may get rejected, Arsenal can still seal the deal before the window closes in next few days.
