Redknapp Felt Sorry For Odemwingie

QPR manager Harry Redknapp expressed his sympathy for West Brom striker Peter Odemwingie after his attempts to force a move to the London club failed in an embarrassing way.

Odemwingie was refused at Loftus Road as he came there without the permission of his current club West Brom.

Redknapp commented:

“I feel sorry for the lad and the way things have turned out.”

“I think he was advised that he should turn up, that the club had made an offer and it was accepted. I think the wires must have got crossed somewhere.”

QPR were busiest of all teams in England on deadline day as they wrapped up deals for Christopher Samba, Jermaine Jenas and Andros Townsend.

Redknapp also expressed his delight in the signing of Christopher Samba from Anzhi Makhachkala.

He added:

“We lost a fantastic center-half in Ryan Nelsen but bought another top one in Christopher Samba.”

“That was good for us as it was going to be difficult to replace Ryan.”

“Other than that, the other deals have been already”
