Red Devils – Ready to battle…

Will Hazard sign for United or City? United are serious about Hazard and close in on the Belgian winger. Finally Hazard signs for Chelsea. Well this news might have been a blessing in disguise for Manchester United cause his refusal to sign for United, might have been the catalyst needed to fire up our very own Sir Alex Ferguson for the battle for football supremacy in England. Two days ago, Sir Alex unveiled Nick Powell and Shinji Kagawa to the whole world at a live press conference and decided to open up on his plans for latest additions to the Manchester United family.

Shinji Kagawa is being seen by SAF as the missing link in our United puzzle and if the player performs to his potential, as he did over the last two seasons at Borussia Dortmund, this could indeed be the signing which will bring us back the Premier league title from our once noisy neighbors. His position as a central attacking midfielder would change the dimension of our team completely but would bring back the attacking flair of the last decade. SAF feels Kagawa has the capability to start the first game of the season and who can argue with the Scotsman evaluation of a player. Kagawa has already been a hit amongst the fans after he famously rejected the no. 7 shirt and felt it would mean much more to him to earn the shirt than being handed it from the beginning. This is the attitude SAF expects from his players which has not been shown by many in recent times (Paul Pogba – U should be ashamed of your actions).

Now let us talk about the next signing of this summer – Nick Powell. The lad seems so calm and composed during the press conference and seems to be level-headed which is loved by SAF.  Every United fan had an opinion on this player and his playing position. There were some who said he would be a winger and some said he would be a substitute for Rooney. SAF has squashed all these rumours and has clearly stated that Powell would be a central midfielder for United. He is expected to be a deep-lying central midfielder and would actively be involved in attack like a certain legend called Steven Gerrard at Liverpool. Such comparisons would add pressure to the young shoulders but he seems to be someone who would handle it quite well. Moreover he is being considered as someone for the future; as SAF feels he needs to grow develop physically before being a main fixture at United.  But one should not forget the goals he scored at Crewe to aid their promotion this season and he could surprise us all with a quicker entry into the first team. Expect the unexpected – this is Manchester United.

Finally SAF declaration that we will have one or two more signings before the season starts shows that the wily Scot has not lost his hunger for trophies and he is ready for a battle this season. With speculation linking us with players such as Leighton Baines, Lucas Moura, Joao Moutinho and the biggest of them all Robin Van Persie, surely United seems to have decided to use the cash allotted for Eden Hazard more productively and to strengthen various areas in the side which have been our weakness over the last few seasons.  Hazard on the other hand was never needed at United. He was more of a fancy signing and we are better off with Nani and Ashley Young at the same position.

Also a thank you message for Park Ji sung. He was a fan favorite and a great servant for the club. On the field talent aside, United fans will always hold him special for showing the heart and loyalty for the club off the field also. Park – you always made us proud. Thank you.
