Real Madrid and Modric. A match made in heaven?

Real Madrid, probably one of the biggest clubs in the world. Everyone wants to play for them and well Modric is no different to anyone. He clearly knows that money, women , fame and anew life awaits him when he puts on the famous – “THE ALL WHITE OF REAL MADRID” . But is Modric someone who can fit in the their jaw dropping midfield at the moment. After the previous season, one could say that they were brilliant and just came up short against Bayern Munich in the UCL semi-final. Clearly they are, along with their rivlas Barcelona who seemed to be unbeatable until last year. Both the clubs are unparalleled.

For starters, if Modric is in, then Kaka is definitely on his way out of Madrid. Kaka was brilliant in the latter stages of the champions league and would be a good signing for whoever he signs in the near future. The Modric move, if reports are to be believed is very close. The player’s advisors have already met up with officials from AC Milan and are working on a deal. With Modric acting as a rebel for Spurs and then being branded as “unprofessional” buy Spurs manager – Andre Villas Boas, the move seems inevitable now.

Though if seen one on one, Kaka and Modric have similarities and even huge differences. Kaka carried the entire AC Milan team along with him and guided them to the CL title in 06-07 but Modric undoubtedly has the talent, but it’s debatable that he would do the same in a star-studded team like Real Madrid. Modric is quick with his feet and can make decisive passes and can shoot from distance. Whether he is an instant hit at Madrid remains to be seen, but Real Madrid do have the youngsters to produce the goods just in case they do not sign Modric. Granero is good and with reserve team youngsters knocking on the door and Jose Callejón finally coming into the first team picture. And has everyone already forgotten Nuri Sahin?  Modric might not be needed too. Ozil might just play further forward and Modric with Alonso staying back and controlling the game. The idea sounds mouth-watering yet Madrid don’t need to spend heavily on Modric if need be. Such is the Madrid hunger to dethrone Barcelona as the “greatest team” and win the CL this year that they made a move for Modric and his performances for Croatia justified the talent that the media reports. Real Madrid is fueled by Barcelona, their adversaries and just like their star players – Ronaldo and Messi, they keep taking each other to new levels.
