Real Madrid already have Ronaldo’s replacement in their team and should not search elsewhere

Why Gareth Bale could be Real Madrid’s new go-to-man in Ronaldo’s absence

It’s finally happened. Cristiano Ronaldo has left Real Madrid and would you believe it? Well, you must because this time around, it’s actually true and it’s happened already. Serie A champions Juventus have signed the Real Madrid forward for a reported fee of around £99.2 million.

When reports initially surfaced, the Blancos’ fans probably thought it’s just another rumour with Ronaldo’s name in it. But the forward has finally left the club after a glittering 9-year stay at Madrid which saw him blossom into one of the world’s best players.

Now, it is time for Madrid to address the elephant in the room. Who is going to replace their talisman? One name that pops to mind is Gareth Bale. The Welsh wizard was signed from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013 after he stunned the world with his performances in the Premier League.

He made the move to Real Madrid and further dazzled with his sizzling speed and trickery on the ball. Bale is often remembered for his El Classico goal, which saw him run around Marc Bartra before coolly slotting the ball into the net.

Bale has made a total of 126 appearances for Los Blancos, scoring 70 goals in that time. He is an exceptional player who is capable of playing a wide number of roles up front. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was also Madrid’s hero in the Champions League final after scoring a brace to help the club lift their third consecutive title.

He made a total of 20 appearances in the La Liga last season, scoring 16 goals and providing 2 assists in the process. His ability is undeniable but there is just one issue. His horrendous injury record often keeps him out of the squad and he must work on that.

The Welshman may be one of the best players out there but it doesn’t make a difference if he’s rarely on the field. If Gareth Bale can work on his fitness levels and stay fit for the majority of the season, there’s no denying that he can replicate the kind of form he showed in his first season.

He is an explosive forward and a pure goalscoring machine. However, it is not easy to replace a player like Cristiano Ronaldo, and in order to do so, Bale should improve his fitness and performance levels. If he can do that, the Welsh star could once again become one of the most feared players on the planet.
