The Old Firm derby turned out to be an eventful encounter as Celtic emerged victorious beating the Light Blues 2-1 at Park Head.

Gers striker, Alfredo Morelos, was the first one to receive the red card in the first half following his altercation with skipper Scott Brown.

Andy Halliday followed the Colombian’s footsteps later after receiving his second yellow of the day in the final quarter of the game.

Ryan Kent, who was also spotted elbowing Brown was unnoticed by the either of the officials.

And the tension continued even after the final whistle with both sides were involved in ugly banter.

Gerrard had been spotted making his comments to Madden in person. In the wake of the event, SFA have decided to suspend the former Liverpool star for a game. (h/t The Sun)

However, it still remains uncertain whether Gerrard will contest the ban.

The Ibrox manager expressed his disappointment, claiming that the Celts were playing the victim card on Sunday, post the defeat.

Upon receiving his fifth red card of the season, Morelos has now been handed with a four-match suspension.

Earlier in this season, the 22-year-old missed out on two matches owing to his misconduct with an Aberdeen player.

He has amassed 29 goals this season across all competition, yet he’s often been reprimanded for his on-field conduct.

The Gers had a resurgence with a comfortable 3-0 win against Hearts last night without Morelos.

They will be facing Motherwell in Sunday’s Premiership game.
