Raheem Sterling is one of the best players in the Premier League but has been on the end of some diving accusations.
The Manchester City attacker has been booked in the past for simulation, but that doesn’t seem to have affected him.
The England star has helped the Citizens to several trophies and was possibly their best winger in the previous campaign.
Sterling has scored 19 goals and provided three assists for City this season, but a recent video on Twitter got people talking.
It was taken from a training session that City were conducting. Sterling was seen near some goal posts before a ball hit him in the head.
The Englishman collapsed in a heap, and it could have been a genuine reaction given that the hit caught him by surprise.
Sterling did get up from the knock but his caption on a Tweet hit two birds with one stone.
One was the fact that he has been called a diver and booked on that pretence. The other hit was at VAR and how some calls have been made in the Premier League.
The Premier League is using VAR for the first time and there have been some iffy calls made.
Manchester City have been on the wrong end of some of those calls. However, the technology and decision making should improve with more time.
With Leroy Sane out with an injury, Sterling has been relied on a lot by Pep Guardiola.
The Premier League seems out of reach at the moment with Liverpool 14 points ahead of them.
The FA Cup, Carabao Cup and the Champions League are still on offer for the Citizens. They face Manchester United over the two semi-final legs of the Carabao Cup first.
However, they face a huge test in the Champions League. City travel to Real Madrid for the first leg of their knockout clash before hosting them in March.
