Pulis to make 2 changes – Predicted 4-3-3 Middlesbrough line-up to face Burton Albion

Predicted Middlesbrough Line-up To Face Burton Albion In The EFL Championship

Middlesbrough will be looking to secure their place in the playoff positions with a win over Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Easter Monday.

Pulis will have laid into his defence after the 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers and will want them to be in much better shape for this game.

Probable Middlesbrough XI

Manager: Tony Pulis

Formation: 4-3-3

Darren Randolph (GK)

Randolph has been an ever-present for Middlesbrough this season and didn’t have a terrible game against Wolves. There wasn’t much he could do and he will be looking for better protection from his defenders.

George Friend (LB)

The experienced English left-back offers a threat down the left flank for Middlesbrough while offering a solid defensive base as well.

Ben Gibson (CB)

The 25-year-old centre-back dominates in the air for Middlesbrough and also helps the team to build from the back.

Ben Gibson

Daniel Ayala (CB)

Ayala is a very distinguished defender plying his trade in the Championship. He has played at a very high level in his career and this experience shows up when he’s on the pitch.

Martin Cranie (RB)

The 31-year-old right-back has played well for Middlesbrough this season when he has been available and offers experience down the right-wing. He has an excellent jump on him and wins a lot of his aerial battles.

Adam Clayton (CM)

Clayton had a game to forget against Wolves and will be looking to bounce back. He has a very high pass success rate but did not dominate the midfield. Will be looking for improvement.

Grant Leadbitter (CM)

All of the Middlesbrough central midfielders looked a little off against Wolves and like Clayton, Leadbitter will be looking to play at the higher standard he is capable of.

Jonny Howson (CM)

The English central midfielder adds some bite to the central midfield and usually wins a lot of tackles. Will look to break up the play and run the midfield.

Adama Traore (on the ball)

Adama Traore (RW)

Adds pace and hunger to the Middlesbrough attack. He is absolutely unplayable on his day and will be hoping to shine against a lesser opposition.

Stewart Downing (LW)

Can cross a ball incredibly well and create goals for his team. Also adept at taking on and beating his man, he seems to be in the right place at the right time to have a shot on goal as well. Can make the difference.

Patrick Bamford (ST)

The 24-year-old always looks hungry for goals and has a quality finish. Has never quite made it at the top-level but has 12 goals for Middlesbrough this season and scores one every 1.5 games. He can make or break a game for them and provides great competition to Britt Assombalonga.
