Puel to make 5 changes – Predicted 4-4-2 Leicester City Lineup To Face Fleetwood Town

Predicted Leicester City Line-up To Face Fleetwood Town In The FA Cup

Leicester City have climbed up to the 8th place in the Premier League table despite a dismal inception and are now smelling a place in Europe by banking on their current form. In spite of being down to ten men, the Foxes clinched a point against reigning champions Chelsea on Saturday afternoon following a scoreless draw at Stamford Bridge.

However, their FA Cup third round tie against League One outfit Fleetwood Town ended in a disappointing 0-0 draw and the Foxes boss Claude Puel would be cautious ahead of the Tuesday night rematch at King Power Stadium in order to avoid any major upset.

Team News

Leicester have a few significant absentees as skipper Wes Morgan, veteran centre-back Robert Huth, and right-back Danny Simpson are ruled out for the tie with injuries. Young left-back Ben Chilwell was handed his marching orders against Chelsea and will serve his suspension against the Cod Army. Midfielder Matty James suffered a slight knock on Saturday while featuring against the Blues and might not be risked on Tuesday night.

Formation: 4-4-2

Puel has mostly fielded his side in a 4-4-1-1 or in a 4-4-2 setup but experimented with a front three during their Highbury encounter. The team, however, failed to score and registered a futile draw, which might lead the Frenchman to bring back his usual 4-4-2 formation tomorrow night.

Manager: Claude Puel

Eldin Jakupovic (GK)

The former Hull City custodian was handed his first Leicester City start against tomorrow’s opponent in the undecided encounter and is expected to feature again, for the rematch.

Daniel Amartey (RB)

Is having a run of games in a makeshift right-back role following the injury concern of Danny Simpson and should retain his place due to a lack of options in that particular slot.

Aleksandar Dragovic (CB)

Was not having much opportunities since joining the Foxes on loan from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen but is finally having some quality game-time following skipper Wes Morgan’s injury and has done a decent job so far in the heart of the Leicester defence.

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire (CB)

One of the best defenders in the league as the former Hull City centre-back is gaining loads of appreciation for his impressive displays for Leicester. He will lead the line against the Cod Army.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

Chilwell’s sending off has left Fuchs as the only available left-back option for selection and the Austrian will complete their ‘back four’ against tomorrow’s opponents.

Riyad Mahrez (RM)

Mahrez had a sensational outing against Chelsea and will be required in order for the Foxes to secure a win and progress through to the next round of the competition.

Adrien Silva (CM)

The Portuguese midfielder has finally completed his long-pending move but is yet to settle in a new environment and wasn’t included in their trip to the Stamford Bridge this weekend. Silva, however, is tipped to start the game against the League One minnows.

Andy King (CM)

The longest-serving Leicester City player in the current squad who hasn’t switched his allegiance since joining their youth ranks back in 2004. His game-time has been limited in the past few campaigns but he is expected to feature in the middle of the park on Tuesday night.

Demarai Gray

Demarai Gray (LM)

The youngster is finally having his first-team opportunities and has shown early promises of a bright career ahead. He should be handed responsibilities to secure a win and draw an end to Fleetwood’s hope of causing an Emirates FA Cup upset.

Islam Slimani (ST)

Slimani too has not been assured of regular game-time but is expected to start the game up front alongside Jamie Vardy.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

An emotional outing for the English international against his former employers who were a non-league outfit back then. Fleetwood played a massive role in Vardy’s inspiring upsurge as a Premier League winner and the fixture against them will be an emotional affair for the Leicester hero.
