Pros And Cons Of Arsenal Signing This Morccan International From Ligue 1

Arsenal are in need of signing some match-winners in the current transfer window, as they look to win the Premier League title in the upcoming season and perform better in other competitions as well. The Gunners finished at second place, 10 points behind champions Leicester City in the previous campaign, though the slight consolation would have been the fact that they ended the season above their fierce rivals Spurs.

However, it was not good enough as Arsene Wenger’s side once again went trophyless and were knocked out in the round of 16 of the Champions League once again.

The Frenchman is quite determined for change and Swiss international Granit Xhaka’s move to the Emirates so early in the transfer window has just confirmed that. However, signing just one player would not be enough, as there are more areas within the team that need to be strengthened and soon.

Keeping that in mind, another midfield superstar that is now being linked with the north London giants is France international Sofiane Boufal. Wenger feels the need to add more options up front and a player like the 22 year old attacking midfielder could give him that.

The player is rated at around £19.6m and can play on either side or in a central role if needed, which would mean he could be a backup for compatriot Olivier Giroud as well. The attacker is currently with Ligue 1 outfit Lille and is wanted by a host of clubs across Europe, including some of the Londoner’s top rivals, who are looking to push through a deal as well.

The young star is quite good with the ball at his feet and can trouble the opposition defenders with his trickery. His passing, crossing and finishing are also his strengths, which could possibly help him fit in the Arsenal team, if he signs for the club.

He is still very young and energetic and could propel the team to a title win, if used properly. He would also be a long-term prospect for the club, which would urge Wenger to push through a deal.

However, the French manager must remember one thing that Boufal does have some issues with his behaviour and can be targeted easily due to that. He is not good at holding onto the ball and barely contributes in defence, which is something really important too for a team player.

He is not the strongest in the air as well and sometimes goes into challenges quite rashly. This might hurt Arsenal at times, though where there are many advantages, there will be some faults as well. It will all be up to Wenger and the need for more attack minded players.

The fee for the player is withing the range that Wenger is comfortable spending and he can be a good addition to the club, if the manager is able to beat his rivals for his signature.
