Projected Tottenham Lineup To Face Southampton: Watch Out For This Danish Star

Projected Tottenham Lineup vs Southampton

Tottenham were all set to get into the top four but somehow managed to lose 2-1 at home to Newcastle thanks to a late goal from Ayoze Perez. Spurs should have finished the game in the first half but only led by a single goal and a few errors in the second half with some inspired play from Newcastle brought Spurs only their second loss of the campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino would be looking for a response from a youthful Spurs team and with Tottenham travelling to Southampton, Pochettino’s old club, the onus would be on the London team to perform.

The team only has one doubtful player in this game Mousa Dembele, who could well start. This game should be extremely entertaining as both clubs like to play attractive football and Spurs will be looking to get the three points and put some pressure on the top four.

Here is the predicted lineup for Tottenham.

Hugo Lloris

The French goalkeeper was at fault for both goals and will be looking to make amends for these errors.

Danny Rose

Rose has been one of the consistent players for Spurs and should keep his place in the team in this crucial tie against Southampton.

Jan Vertonghen

The Belgian has been a rock at the heart of the Spurs defence and will be hopeful of putting in a better performance than that against Newcastle a week ago.

Toby Alderweireld

Jan’s partner in the centre of defence, Alderweireld has almost overtaken his defensive partner in terms of putting in great performances and that can only mean good things for Tottenham this season.

Kyle Walker

One of the fastest players in the league, Walker will have his work cut out trying to keep Sadio Mane quiet in the game and if he succeeds, that should give Spurs a great chance to get the win.

Moussa Dembele

Dembele could make it back into the team and that would give them a lot of power and drive in the heart of midfield.

Eric Dier

Dier has been brilliant in his defensive role for Tottenham this season; he might have started his career as a defender but Pochettino converting him into a midfielder could well be a smart move for Dier’s career.

Christian Eriksen

A Player to watch out for. The Danish international has been one of the stars for Spurs ever since he signed for them from Ajax and should be looking to play a meaningful role at St. Mary’s.

Dele Alli

The rising star of the team that can’t put a foot wrong, Alli has been a joy to watch this season and should show us some magic as he tries to help Tottenham win the three points.

Erik Lamela

The Argentine has slowly worked back to his best under his Argentine boss and could be a major threat for the Saints defence.

Harry Kane

Harry already has eight goals to his name and will be looking to score another one. There however, is a need to find someone who can share the goal scoring burden with the Englishman at Spurs though.
