Projected Tottenham Hotspur Lineup To Face Newcastle United: Dier And Lamela To Start

After 2 uninspiring draws v Chelsea and West Brom, Tottenham return back to form in superb style in the mid week thrashing of AS Monaco in the Europa League, all credit due to the first half hat-trick of Erik Lamela, the club’s record signing. Tottenham will be looking to carry forward this morale boost and win against Newcastle, who last beat Liverpool in the previous game week, but wins have so far proven to be false dawns for the Toons.

In goal, Frenchman Hugo Lloris will continue to perform his duties and will attempt to keep a clean sheet, a thoroughly deserved one too, with him pulling off a few wonderful saves which can compete for save of the season by the end of May 2016.

The back 4 is set in stone for now. There does not appear to be any changes to the combination as they have formed an impeccable chemistry leading to being one of the tightest defences in Europe and the Premier League right now. Kyle Walker who has transformed himself to a new player this season under Pochetino has stamped his authority for the RB spot and made himself a regular. He will be looking to develop further as a more rounded player for both club and country. There is not much to say about the centre back duo, the Belgian rocks Toby and Jan will be present once again to marshall out any possible danger. Rose will continue his duties at LB as he provides more width and attacking options than Ben Davies.

In Central regions of the field, Eric Dier who was withdrawn from the Monaco game for safety reasons will feature in the starting line up v Newcastle for sure. He has become an irreplaceable member of the team this year with solid showcases at CDM. Dembele who was out sick v Monaco will be back and regain his place in the team. He is one of the existing players to have made the most remarkable turnarounds to his Spurs career, becoming the crux of the engine that makes Spurs tick as he contributes to the pressing style with his ability to win balls back and pick a pass while also dribble past defenders.

19 year old, Delle Alli will also continue to enjoy more success this season as he is set for another start. On current form, it is a more than a safe prediction to say that Alli will be a key player in the build up play for at least one of the probable goals that Spurs will look to score. Son and Lamela will both fight for the right flank spot, but with the recent hat trick, I am guessing Lamela will get the nod ahead of the Korean. Eriksen will play down the left wing. The Dane has fitted well into a wide role but surely will move inwards as the game progresses as he prefers dictating play and spreading the ball wide.

Harry Kane will hope to latch on to some of the passes that Eriksen and Lamela provide to him. He is still the main target man and though he is the default option to start, he is a very good option to go with. Hopefully gets back among the goals too.

Spurs will look to continue this run of unbeaten games and hope to start the festive season well. A win will be the ideal result, I am predicting a 3:0 win for Tottenham.
