The 3-1 victory over Nigel Pearson’s Leicester has surely given the Reds a much sought boost to their confidence. Meanwhile, Gus Poyet’s Sunderland have not had their dream run so far. After a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester City in their last face off, the side seems to be seeking some coordination and form desperately.

Rodgers would definitely like to bank upon the Black Cats’ last defeat and eye upon churning out another victory for Liverpool. Particularly, a win against Sunderland would mark three back to back victories for Rodgers and his men in the Premier League, and the Reds boss would unquestionably not let this opportunity.
