Projected Arsenal Line-up To Play Against West Ham – Rosicky And Podolski To Start?

Arsenal made a meal of what should have been an easy victory, they were leading QPR 1-0 thanks to who else but Alexis Sanchez and then Olivier Giroud got himself sent off due to a head-butt. Arsenal did double their lead thanks to Rosicky but they gave QPR a chance to cause an upset when Charlie Austin scored from a penalty kick.

Arsenal still held on but now will have to play their next 3 games without Olivier Giroud, which throws a lot of problems and selection headaches to Arsene Wenger. Arsenal face West Ham United away in a London derby, West Ham are placed above Arsenal and the Gunners will be looking to change that. Here is the predicted line up for Arsenal for the West Ham trip.

Wojciech Szczesny

The Arsenal number 1, Szczesny might have faced some competition at the start of the campaign from Ospina but he has proved to be the best goalkeeper the Gunners have and should continue to be in goal against West Ham.

Mathieu Debuchy

The Frenchman returning form injury has been a huge boost for Arsenal as they can finally play a proper right back in their preferred position. Debuchy has done well enough since his return and should take the field against West Ham.

Per Mertersacker

The big German has been a rock in the back for Arsenal and you can’t really see an Arsenal team without Per managing the defence.

Calum Chambers

While Nacho Monreal played as the CB with Per in the last game, West Ham have a huge aerial threat with Carroll and to deal with that the Gunners could draft in Calum Chambers who can give them that extra heading ability.

Kieran Gibbs

The left back has become Arsenal’s number one choice for the position and his speed and control have ensured that he does not get beaten often when playing for the Gunners.

Mathieu Flamini

The Frenchman has to start for the Gunners as Mikel Arteta is still injured. Flamini is the only other choice for the defensive/holding midfielder role at Arsenal and should start in the London derby.

Tomas Rosicky

Rosicky scored the all-important goal against QPR to ensure that Arsenal come with the 3 points despite being down to 10 men. He should retain his place in the squad as they prepare to play another London derby on Sunday.

Santi Cazorla

The Spaniard should get the nod to start in the game, although Theo Walcott was on the bench, Arsene Wenger might still rest Theo for the next games coming in the season and play Santi since he is in form.

Alexis Sanchez

The Chilean has scored or assisted half of Arsenal’s goals in the Premier League this season. He is that important to the club and dropping him to the bench just would not make sense, so Sanchez will start against West Ham.

Lukas Podolski

The suspension of Giroud opens a door for Podolski to reignite his Arsenal career. His time in London has been reduced to late cameos and maybe this could be the chance for him to do something for the club, news has been coming in that he may be on the move in January, so this could be the time to show his talent and secure a move.

Danny Welbeck

Welbeck might have been playing in the wing when Giroud was in the line-up but the English striker should lead the line when he goes up against West Ham United on Sunday, this should be the chance for him to make most of starting up front.
