Let’s put the Norwich game behind us and look forward to Arsenal’s Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund tomorrow. The Gunners host the German club in the third round of the Champions League group “f” match looking to continue their 100 percent record in Europe so far this season. Dortmund come in to the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Hannover 96 standing second in the league, and a point behind leaders Bayern Munich.
However the way Arsenal play at the moment, they might destroy any opposition. Arsenal stand at the top of the table two points clear of Chelsea and Liverpool. The Gunenrs will be buoyed by their midfielders’ performance over the weekend as Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere combined excellently to help them to a 4-1 victory over Norwich.
As far as the team news is concerned, Santi Cazorla after starting the weekend’s game should start again along with Ozil, Wilshere and Ramsey just behind striker Olivier Giroud.
However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed Mathieu Flamini will miss the Champions League clash which leaves Ramsey as the midfield partner for Mikel Arteta. Flamini suffered a concussion during Norwich’ match as a result of a head clash with defender Alexander Tettey and was subbed off in the first half of the game. Talking about the midfielder, Wenger said:
“There is a five-days (concussion) rule that we will respect, not to take any chance. It was a concussion and the doctor advised us not to play him. He will be okay for the weekend. “I’ll leave myself 24 hours until tomorrow afternoon to decide the team.”
With no further injuries suffered, I would love to see the same defensive line-up. Arsene Wenger tends to use Thomas Rosicky in big games and I would not be surprised if he is allowed to start ahead of Jack Wilshere despite his two match goal scoring streak.
Here is a projected Arsenal line-up for the Dortmund clash.
