Jose Mourinho is finally the manager of Manchester United and that only means one thing, he will bring the league title to the club after three seasons, whether it is this year or the next year. The former Chelsea manager seems set to also bring in a lot of stars from different clubs and one player who has been linked with a move at least away from his club is Saul Niguez.
The Spaniard has been a star for Atletico Madrid all season as he has taken his side to the Champions League final against bitter rivals Real Madrid and almost got the La Liga title with Los Rojiblancos, but missed out to Barcelona ultimately.
Mourinho is known for bringing a set of players who are set to give it all to the team and the manager would expect to do the same if Niguez does sign for the club. Niguez might want a new challenge and working with Jose would ensure that he does pick up the league title or other championships pretty soon.
Manchester United also need someone who is strong and determined and the 21-year-old is perfect for the role at Manchester, especially with the Portuguese in charge.
Better call Saul
Niguez can play in a range of positions and just like Daley Blind, he can also play in defense, but he probably will be wasted in that role and the best place for him would be in midfield. The 21-year-old has started most of the games in the middle of the park and that is exactly where he would be playing for United as well, if he signs.
Looking at what the Manchester United team would look like; David de Gea will be the goalkeeper, no matter what people say and similarly, the defence seems to be set with Luke Shaw hopefully returning to the left-back role and Chris Smalling and Daley Blind in the heart of the defence. The right-back show would probably be taken up by Matteo Darmian or even Antonio Valencia, depending on who Jose Mourinho prefers.
The midfield would now feature Morgan Schneiderlin and Saul Niguez, the Spaniard would be the one who would be pulling the strings and doing most of the attacking from this position. The forward four would consist of Wayne Rooney just ahead of the midfield duo, seeing as to how the English forward has thrived this season in games where he has not played as the main striker.
The players out on the wing would be Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial, simply because the dup have been excellent in these regions and Marcus Rashford would be leading the line for the Red Devils.
Mourinho also could try to mix it up and play Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard as the wingers and play Martial in the role of the central striker as he might not trust Rashford for the goal scoring duties.
Saul would be the one who does most of the work if he does sign for Manchester United and he would be looking to make a difference to the club, but the Premier League side would have to pay a hefty sum to bring the talented star to England and Mourinho would want to ensure such transfers are wrapped up as soon as possible.
