Predicted Hull City Lineup To Face Barnsley In The EFL Championship

Hull City will look to pull further away from the relegation zone when they take on Barnsley at the KCOM Arena in the EFL Championship on Tuesday night.

The Tigers registered a 1-0 win over Sheffield United this past weekend that saw them move out of the drop zone and manager Nigel Adkins will be hoping to build on that win against the Blades and carry the momentum against the Tykes during the midweek to clinch three more points at home and put a considerable gap between themselves and the bottom three.

Team News

The Tigers will go into the game without the services of defenders Moses Odubajo and Ondrej Mazuch, while midfielder Markus Henriksen is also set to miss out. Uruguayan striker Abel Hernandez could be set for a return to the matchday squad following a lengthy injury layoff.

Probable Hull City XI

Manager: Nigel Adkins

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Allan McGregor (GK)

The veteran 36-year old is the first-choice at the KCom Arena ahead of fellow Scotsman David Marshall and should keep his place between the sticks on Tuesday.

Ola Aina (RB)

The on-loan utility man from Chelsea has been a constant fixture in the Hull team and that is unlikely to change for the midweek game. Should start at right-back.

Michael Dawson (CB)

In the heart of the defence, Adkins is once again likely to go in with the experienced head of former Tottenham Hotspur man Michael Dawson.

Michael Dawson

Angus MacDonald (CB)

Alongside Dawson, it will be January signing Angus MacDonald, who will take the field against his former club on Tuesday night.

Max Clark (LB)

The 22-year old academy man is set to make his 22nd league appearance of the season when he takes the pitch against the Tykes at left-back.

Jackson Irvine (CM)

One of the two positions in the middle of the park is once again likely to be taken up by summer signing Jackson Irvine.

Sebastian Larsson (CM)

Partnering the 24-year old in the centre should be the experienced former Sunderland midfielder Sebastian Larsson.

Jarrod Bowen (RW)

The club’s leading goalscorer for the season, Jarrod Bowen, is expected to feature once again from the kick off on the right flank.

Kamil Grosicki

Jon Toral (CAM)

There could be a change on the cards in the attacking midfield position, with former Arsenal man Jon Toral likely to get the nod ahead of Evandro.

Kamil Grosicki (LW)

On the left-hand side, Kamil Grosicki could make his first start in quite a long time, coming in place of Adama Diomande.

Nouha Dicko (ST)

Leading the line for the Tigers against Barnsley will be summer signing Nouha Dicko. The 25-year old scored the only goal of the game against Sheffield a over the weekend and will want to add to his tally of seven for the season.
