Predicted Fulham’s Tricky 4-3-3 Line-Up To Face Bristol City – Cairney On The Right, Johansen On The Left

Predicted Fulham Line-up To Face Bristol City In The EFL Championship

Fulham’s bid for promotion is stalling ever so slightly and after draws against Preston and Bolton, they now have a third chance to win at home in the Championship, when they face Bristol City on Tuesday night.

Despite their underwhelming form, a similar line-up to that which drew 1-1 against Bolton at the weekend is expected to be sent out by Slavisa Jokanivic, most likely in a 4-3-3 formation and featuring the following personnel:

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Slavisa Jokanovic

GK – David Button

The former Brentford ‘keeper has kept only two clean sheets this season, something more indicative of his side’s style of play than his own ability or lack thereof.

RB – Ryan Fredericks

The 25-year-old is bound to get better. The talent is all there for Fulham to mount a serious promotion bid, though they leave themselves open to counters.

Tomas Kalas

CB – Tomas Kalas

The now familiar central defensive line-up of Kalas and Ream are trusted and popular but frankly, they are often left hopelessly exposed and could do with a quieter night.

CB – Tim Ream

Kalas’ left hand, Ream still maintains his coolness under pressure but that pressure is still likely to come as Fulham play with their open style.

LB – Ryan Sessegnon

I’m not yet bored of saying Sessegnon should be in the front three rather than the back four. Sadly, this won’t change for a while yet.

RM – Tom Cairney

Another player who is perhaps not best used in this particular position, Cairney really needs to be central.

Tom Cairney

CM – Kevin McDonald

All things considered, McDonald can stake his own claim to be named as Fulham’s most important player, especially in the formation and team selection that Jokanovic now favours.

LW – Stefan Johansen

Surely the Norwegian has to play here? He is another midfielder who is well capable of bombing forward and scoring. So he can be dangerous if allowed to start.

RW – Rui Fonte

I fear Fonte will be asked to play on this side again in what is becoming an increasingly confusing Fulham set-up. If he should play anywhere, it should be as a centre-forward and if not, the bench.

Rui Fonte

LW – Floyd Ayite

Ayite has his qualities for sure, but once again, picture Sessegnon in this position instead and defences would have a whole new issue to deal with.

ST – Aboubakar Kamara

Fulham continue to struggle to find a prolific No.9 and Kamara is the latest to give the position a go. Most defences will not worry too much about this current front three.
