Predicted Arsenal XI To Start Next Season Featuring New Signings And Rumoured Stars

Next season is going to be very critical for Arsene Wenger and his team, if they go one more year without the Premier League, it might be the final year we see the French manager in the Arsenal dugout. There were already signs of frustration last year, as a group of fans called for his resignation but still there is a considerable amount of fans and the board at Emirates that believes Wenger is the right man to take us forward. Wenger for criticized heavily last summer for not having signed a outfield player, the only team in the top five leagues in Europe to do so.

The next Premier League campaign starts with a bang as Liverpool visit the Emirates on match day one. Wenger must get his players ready and firing by then otherwise they will find themselves way behind the leading pack. Having already signed Granit Xhaka earlier in the summer, Wenger will be looking to add 2-3 more quality to players to the squad, who can take Arsenal over the line come next May. Here is how Arsenal might line-up on August 13th against Liverpool.

Goalkeeper: Petr Cech

Cech had an excellent first season after he moved to Arsenal from Chelsea last summer. Although he did have some nervous moments here and there but at the end he came out with the golden glove award. Szczesny will return from his loan spell this summer but it is unlikely that he will displace Cech as the number one goalkeeper at Arsenal.

Defense: Nacho Monreal, Laurent Koscielny, Neven Subotic and Hector Bellerin

With both Gabriel and Mertesacker struggling to cement their place in the back-line, Wenger might be tempted to dip into the resources and get a solid centre-back and Subotic fits that role perfectly. Koscielny was one of the best defenders in the League last term and will look to lead the Gunners back line next season as well. Monreal remains a priority in the rearguard. The Spaniard put in a solid work last term and should remain a first-choice option. Barcelona are chasing Hector Bellerin but the Spaniard is most likely to stay at the Emirates after  putting in a performance that earned him a spot in the PFA team of the year.

Midfield: Granit Xhaka, Jack Wilshere, Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey

£30million summer signing, Granit Xhaka will be expected to start in central midfield after putting a superb performance for the Swiss in the Euro 2016. He will be most likely partnered with Jack Wilshere, the English midfielder has struggled a lot with injuries therefore it is imperative that he proves to the club that he can last a whole season. Sanchez remains a standout star, and despite rumors linking him to an exit, he is definitely staying next term. The Chilean star wasn’t firing on all cylinders last season due to fatigue from Copa America but this time he will be well rested and ready to go by the season kicks off. Ozil who’s also on international duty will still hope to finally break Henry’s assist record next season after getting close the last time. Aaron Ramsey should complete the midfield trio.

Striker: Giroud

Arsene Wenger will definitely get a striker in this summer, however it is unlikely that he will be preferred over the Frenchman from the start. Often criticized for his finishing, people seem to forget that Giroud has a very decent goal record, therefore it shouldn’t surprise many if the France international striker is again the attack’s focal point next season.
