Zidane To Make Wholesale Changes – Predicted 4-4-2 Real Madrid Lineup To Face Valencia

Predicted Real Madrid Lineup To Face Valencia In La Liga

Real Madrid will welcome Valencia to the Santiago Bernabeu in the second match-week of the Spanish La Liga, on Sunday night.

Zinedine Zidane’s men have had a rampant start to the new season, having already bagged two trophies and began their league campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win over Deportivo La Coruna, away from home last weekend. They will come into the game on the back of a 2-1 win over Serie A side Fiorentina in the Bernabeu Trophy clash on Wednesday night.

Team News

Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored a wonderful goal against Fiorentina in the midweek, remains unavailable for selection in the La Liga, as he serves his five-match ban. Captain Sergio Ramos too is set to miss out after he was shown a red card in the season opener against Deportivo. Defender Jesus Vallejo is ruled out due to injury.

Manager: Zinedine Zidane

Formation: 4-4-2 (Diamond)

Keylor Navas (GK)

The Costa Rican has started the season on a splendid form and looks full of confidence. Definite starter between the sticks.

Dani Carvajal (RB)

The Spaniard is the only senior right-back in the Madrid squad and will start against Los Che on Sunday night.

Nacho (CB)

Nacho was a part of the playing XI against Deportivo in the season opener and should retain his place for the coming weekend.

Raphael Varane (CB)

With captain Ramos suspended, the Frenchman will get to make his first Liga appearance of the season, against Valencia.

Marcelo (LB)

Madrid’s primary attacking outlet down the left-hand side, the Brazilian is a sure starter and should captain the side in Ramos’ absence.

Luka Modric (CM)

The Croatian international is the beating heart of the Real Madrid midfield and will have a pivotal role to play over the course of the season. Another start beckons.

Casemiro (CM)

The tenacious defensive midfielder seems to have added a new dimension to his game, having shown very impressive goal-scoring knack early in the season. Having scored in the first game, he will want to build on it.

Toni Kroos (CM)

Another goal-scorer from the 3-0 win over Deportivo, the German world cup winner is a constant fixture in the Madrid midfield.

Isco (CAM)

The former Malaga man has grown into the creative hub of this Blancos’ side over the past few months. Seems to be relishing in the free role behind the two forwards. Sure to feature from the kick-off.

Gareth Bale (CF)

Got himself on the scoresheet in the opener against Deportivo and with Ronaldo unavailable, he needs to carry the goal-scoring onus on himself.

Karim Benzema (ST)

The Frenchman contributes so much more to the team apart from goals and that is what makes him an immensely valuable player for Madrid. Will partner Bale at the top.
