Predicted 4-3-3 Cardiff lineup for Ipswich game: Warnock to make 1 big change

Predicted Cardiff City Lineup To Face Ipswich Town In EFL Championship

Cardiff are the latest side to claim 2nd place as their own, in the battle to get to the Premier League. They saw off an impressive Boro side in their last game and Neil Warnock has his team well-drilled and ready to take on all comers.

The next team to stand in their way is Ipswich who were not able to hold on to their lead in the Old Farm Derby and the intensity of that game will have surely taken it’s toll on Mick McCarthy’s side, although the Tractor Boys are in a good run of form with only one defeat in their last six.

Team News

Striker Gary Madine is a doubt for this game after breaking his nose against Millwall, while Jazz Richards, Craig Bryson, Matthew Connolly, and Aron Gunnarsson are all on the sidelines.

Probable Cardiff XI

Formation: 4-3-3

GK – Neil Etheridge

The 28-year-old Etheridge has been a constant in Neil Warnock’s side since the start of the season and he will not be replaced against Ipswich.

LB – Joe Bennett

The former Aston Villa player is a proven Championship defender and is a key part of the defensive unit that Neil Warnock has created.

CB – Sol Bamba

The former Leeds centre-back is a force to be reckoned with when he gets going. He is a classic centre-half, he ruffles strikers, heads everything away, and is a threat from set-pieces.

Sol Bamba

CB – Sean Morrison

Sean Morrison is another strong Championship level defender who helps keep Cardiff stay tight at the back.

RB – Bruno Manga

The man from Gabon adds pace and physicality to a backline that is already difficult to play against. The Ipswich attackers are in for a rough afternoon.

CM – Marko Grujic

A lot has been made about the fact that Klopp has told Warnock that Grujic has to play a certain number of games during his loan at Cardiff but at the moment, he is repaying the faith shown in him.

CM – Joe Ralls

The defensive midfielder from Yeovil is a fan favourite because of the effort that he puts in for his team every week. It will be no different at Portman Road.

CM – Callum Paterson

Midfielder Callum Paterson will look to provide width and get forward when he can but he is known more for his defensive contribution than his attacking one.

Junior Hoilett

FW – Junior Hoilett

The former QPR attacker has 10 goals this season and is a key part of the direct Cardiff attack. He will be asked to provide the magic that goes with the steel in this team.

ST – Kenneth Zohore

Without Gary Madine, Zohore will continue to lead the line. He provides a classic number 9 play; he holds the ball up, he battles with defenders and brings others into the play. He only has 4 goals this season.

FW – Nathaniel Mendez-Laing

After being an unused substitute last time out, Mendez-Laing will likely start against the Tractor Boys. He is a talented player that is a little inconsistent. Warnock will be hoping this one to be one of his good days.
