Predicted Stoke City Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion In The Premier League
Stoke City will go head to head against Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion, in the third match-week of the Premier League, at the Hawthorns, on Sunday.
The Potters will be heading into the game high on morale, after registering two wins in their last two games in all competitions – a 1-0 triumph over Arsenal in the Premier League last weekend, which was followed by a 4-0 drubbing of lower league opponents Rochdale in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.
Team News
Star winger Xherdan Shaqiri is set to miss out due to a hamstring injury. Midfielders Ibrahim Afellay and Stephen Ireland are still unavailable, along with young striker Julien Ngoy.
Manager: Mark Hughes
Formation: 3-4-2-1
Jack Butland (GK)
The Englishman had to watch the 4-0 triumph in the midweek from the bench, but will return to the playing XI in the place of Lee Grant.
Kurt Zouma (CB)
The Chelsea loanee is putting in some fine displays at the heart of the defence for the Potters and more of the same will be expected against the Baggies.
Ryan Shawcross (CB)
The captain did not feature against Rochdale on Wednesday night, but will come back into squad and slot in at the centre of the three-man defensive wall.
Bruno Martins Indi (CB)
The summer arrival was a consistent performer while on loan last season. Should get his first start of the season at the Hawthorns.
Mame Biram Diouf (RM)
The 29-year old Senegalese attacker has been used in an unfamiliar wing-back role down the right-hand side by manager Hughes this season. And that is where we will see him against West Brom.
Joe Allen (CM)
The Welshman grabbed a double against Rochdale in the midweek fixture and will look to have a similar impact from the midfield against Pulis’ side.
Darren Fletcher (CM)
The former West Bromwich Albion captain will be hoping to put on a strong showing on his return to the Hawthorns on Sunday.
Erik Pieters (LM)
The Dutchman was slotted out on the right-hand side in the cup encounter, but is likely to return to his more natural left wing-back position.
Ramadan Sobhi (RAM)
With Shaqiri out injured, this represents the perfect opportunity for the young Egyptian to nail down a place in the first-team. Having scored a goal in the midweek, he will be intent on continuing from where he left off.
Jese Rodriguez (LAM)
The loanee from Paris Saint-Germain did not take long to make an impact, scoring the winner against Arsenal in his first game, last weekend. Having been benched for Wednesday night, he is set for a return to the line-up in place of Bojan.
Saido Berahino (ST)
The 24-year old struck up an impressive partnership with Jese last week against the Gunners. Should come into the team, replacing Peter Crouch who scored in the midweek game.
