Possible Premier League Transfer XI In January Including Few Surprises

Share

A list compiled of the best players who could join the Premier League this January.

Willy Caballero

The Malaga goalkeeper was one of the finest shot-stoppers in Europe last season as his heroics were in no small part down to the Spanish minnows continental success. Rumoured to be tracked by Manchester City, Manuel Pellegrini is interested in reuniting with the Argentine custodian.

Darijo Srna

Darijo Srna has been one of Europe’s best wing backs for the best part of a decade now, as he has captained Shakhtar Donetsk during their mid-table years all the way to their European exploits, as they have become regulars in the UEFA Champions League knockout stages. Liverpool are rumoured to be interested in the Croatia international.

Inigo Martinez

Arguably the best centre-back in La Liga, Inigo Martinez has always stood out, but last season he was a rock for Real Sociedad as they finished in 4th place. Rumoured to be on his way to Real Madrid in January, Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is also thought to be a big admirer of the Spainish international and several reports in the past have reported that Pellegrini wants the defender at the Etihad.

Pepe

Another reported target for Manchester City, Real Madrid centre half Pepe could leave should Inigo Martinez join Carlo Ancelotti’s cause at the Santiago Bernabeu. Pepe has impressed under Ancelotti this season and is slowly removing his tag as the dirtiest player in Europe. As per this report, Madrid are willing to listen to offers for Pepe ahead of the January market.

Fabio Coentrao

Fabio Coentrao’s story during the summer transfer window was one with many plot twists, but seemingly no ending, as it was Tottenham Hotspur who led the race for the Portugal international, before Manchester United were too late to finalise a loan deal in the closing minutes of deadline day. It is rumoured that Spurs are still admirers of the former Benfica man, while Arsenal are also interested.

Xabi Alonso

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has only 6 months left on his current Real Madrid deal and could be available for a cut price in January should Madrid decide not to let him leave for free. Interest has been shown by Chelsea and Arsenal, while a return to Liverpool has also been mooted.

Paulo Henrique Ganso

Once in the same category as Neymar, Ganso has somewhat faded since leaving Santos for Sao Paolo, but numerous European sides are still interested in the Brazil international. AC Milan, Inter and Atletico Madrid are all said to be monitoring the midfielders progress, while Arsenal are also long-term admirers and there are every chances that Wenger could go in with another bid come this January.

Hernanes

Lazio midfielder Hernanes has been an unsettled figure in the Serie A and there are every chances that he might want to make a move in January or in the summer, as the Rome based side has struggled this season. Juventus, Paris Saint Germain, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all keen on the Brazil international, while Arsenal and Tottenham have also been linked with a move for the set-piece expert.

Angel Di Maria

Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria may be Real Madrid’s best winger and highest assister, but the club record signing Gareth Bale has been played over the Argentina international, seemingly to try and justify the Welshman’s mammoth transfer. Manchester United are thought to be one of the many clubs interested in the former Benfica man.

Jackson Martinez

When is he not linked with a move away from Porto? He was close to leaving in the summer, though Arsenal and Napoli both refused to meet Porto’s massive valuation of the Colombia international, but with the North London club still seeking to add a world class striker to their ranks, Arsenal could reignite their interest.

Lucas Moura

More cheap speculation than anything, Lucas Moura has been linked with Liverpool lately with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea the few clubs who chased him in the past. But it is highly unlikely Paris Saint Germain will let their Brazil international go, as they don’t need the money and he is happy in the French capital. Though this is football, and anything, within reason, can happen.
