Possible Arsenal Starting XI To Play Against Napoli Including Injury News

Let’s put the Swansea match behind us and look forward to Arsenal’Champions League clash against Napoli. The Gunners host Serie A side Napoli looking to continue their domestic and European form.

Arsenal’s league form cannot get better than this, the Gunners in their first 6 games in the Premier League have just lost a single game and stand at the top of the table 2 points clear of Tottenham and Liverpool. Arsene Wenger will seek this opportunity to extend their winning run and continue the momentum he has built since the arrival of Mesut Ozil on the final day of the transfer window.

Arsenal won their previous Champions League encounter on road against French side Marseille while Napoli defeated German runners up Borussia Dortmund. Tomorrow’s game is expected to be a tight affair and a stalemate could be a possible result.

As far as the team news in concerned, Arsene Wenger has confirmed the return of Thomas Rosicky who has started his training from Sunday and is in contention to start the game against Napoli.

“He can play in all the offensive positions and I’m very happy that he’s back because he is very influential in our game. I haven’t decided who will start and who will not start. But I’m very happy that he’s back in the squad.”

“From Saturday’s squad everybody is available.”, concluded the manager.

After initial fears of Jack Wilshere’s involvement in the starting XI with his ankle problem that he suffered during the Swansea game, it is clear that the England International is fit and will be available for selection.

The only major concern for Wenger is the absence of Theo Walcott, and will have to field Serge Gnabry as a replacement, who although had a good game against the Swans, will start in his 3rd consecutive match for the Gunners and risk putting too much pressure on the 18-year old.

Other absentees include Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski, Yaya Sanogo and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

So here is a possible starting XI that Wenger might deploy against a strong Napoli side.
