Poor Bakayoko – The Best And The Worst Rated Chelsea Players From The 3-0 Loss vs AS Roma

Full Time: Roma 3-0 Chelsea

Chelsea succumbed to an embarrassing 3-0 defeat at the hands of AS Roma in the Champions League. The entire team and manager should be blamed after their poor performance last night. Defensively, Chelsea have looked vulnerable all season and they were exploited by Roma’s front line from the very beginning.

Stephan El Shaarawy stunned Antonio Conte’s men hardly a minute into the game when he hammered a half-volley from the edge of the area. Marcos Alonso was very slow to track his run, and the player made full use of the opportunity.

Chelsea Player Ratings

Thibaut Courtois – 6/10

The player stood no chance as Roma gleefully peppered Chelsea’s goal with shots. He was let down by the defenders and there was really nothing he could do.

Antonio Rudiger – 3/10

The player looked like a disaster waiting to happen. He made a shocking mistake for the second Roma goal and was easily dispossessed throughout the game.

David Luiz – 4/10

There was no real organisation at the back because of which David Luiz was all over the place. He was incredibly wasteful and just sloppy overall.

Gary Cahill – 4/10

Cahill didn’t do anything wrong but he didn’t do anything right either. He was substituted early in the second half.

Marcos Alonso – 3/10

The player was slow to react for the opening goal and was caught out several times defensively. Did not create much impact during attacks as well.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 3/10

He tried moving a lot but it didn’t work. The defence fell apart and like the others, Azpilicueta was quite embarrassing.

Tiemoue Bakayoko – 2/10

Conte’s big summer buy, Bakayoko continues to disappoint in the midfield. He was ineffective and seemed lazy. At times, it was almost like he gave away control to Roma’s midfielders.

Cesc Fabregas – 4/10

Fabregas started off strongly but as his teammates fell apart, he did as well. In fact, he made a shocking mistake for the third goal and the combination with Bakayoko did not work.

Pedro – 5/10

Pedro was quite strong in the first half as he found gaps to exploit but then he had to play the second half as a right wing-back and he couldn’t do much there.

Eden Hazard – 5/10

Hazard was the only Chelsea player who got a shot on goal. Things got worse for the Blues after the break and there was little he could do to salvage it.

Alvaro Morata -3/10

Another one of Conte’s big buys, Morata failed to deliver. He missed a good chance in the first half and didn’t really have a decent impact on the game.

Substitutes

Willian – 3/10

Again, Willian was sloppy and wasteful and he proved to be quite ineffective against a resilient Roma side.

Danny Drinkwater – 4/10

He looked lost and failed to establish control over the midfield.

Michy Batshuayi – 3/10

His efforts looked half-baked and blunt, and as the minutes ticked by, he was only getting worse.
