It’s the second time in recent weeks that Polish goalkeeper Wojceijah Szczesny has declared his love for Arsenal. First time it brought some criticism in Rome because he made it clear he’d rush back to Arsenal as soon as they asked him to. This time around, he has stated that he still loves Arsenal, but prefers playing every week rather than sitting on the bench.
In an recent inerview, he said (viaCalciomercato) “I love Arsenal, but I prefer playing on a regular basis for the Serie A vice-champions to sitting on the bench all season long. Wenger thought that it was better for me to join another team on loan in order to play regularly. I trusted him, and in the end I was right. Leaving Arsenal was painful and it was a difficult decision to make. I can’t imagine myself with another English team but the Gunners.”
Currently, Szczesny is playing for AS Roma on loan from Arsenal and has started off really well apart from few hiccups that frustrated the manager. This time around Szczesny has made sure to add that he’s really happy to be where he is “I am feeling good in Rome right now, everyone believes in me. I can feel that manager, fans and teammates have trust in me. I’ll make a decision about my future only after Euro 2016. Joining Rome was the best thing I could do.”
