Pochettino to make 3 changes – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Tottenham XI to face Barcelona

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur line-up to face Barcelona in the UCL

Tottenham Hotspur picked up an important 2-0 victory against Huddersfield Town in the Premier League this weekend. Thanks to a brilliant brace from Harry Kane, Spurs were able to comfortably see off the Terriers in the absence of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.

Mauricio Pochettino will now turn his attention to the big clash against Barcelona in the Champions League. The Spanish champions are definitely a force to reckon with and Pochettino will have to be wary of a number of threats.

Team News

Spurs have a number of players on the treatment table, with the latest including Jan Vertonghen, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen. Vertonghen could make a return given that he only suffered a slight knock. But apart from that, the long term-absentees will also be missed in this game.

Probable Tottenham Hotspur XI

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Paulo Gazzaniga (GK)

The Argentinian has impressed since being handed the responsibility. He will continue between the sticks.

Kieran Trippier (RB)

With Eriksen out, most of the set-pieces and supply will come in from Trippier. He is more than capable of delivering the goods.

Kieran Trippier

Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian is one of the standout performers for Spurs this season. He seems to be a perfect replacement for Jan Vertonghen.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The Colombian will partner Alderweireld at the back. He has looked solid since making the move to Tottenham.

Ben Davies (LB)

Davies’ raids down the flank should pose all sorts of problems for Barcelona. A sure starter.

Mousa Dembele (RCM)

Dembele’s defensive work rate and bullish approach on the ball will be massive in this game.

Harry Winks (LCM)

Winks should partner Dembele in central midfield. The youngster has shown his true potential in the last few games.

Lucas Moura (RAM)

Moura’s pace and trickery should pose all sorts of problems at the back for Barcelona.

Son Heung-Min (CAM)

Pochettino will need his South Korean hitman to be in full form as he aims to bring down one of Europe’s biggest.

Son Heung-Min

Erik Lamela (LAM)

Lamela has shown good goalscoring form this season and now is the time for him to step up and make a name for himself.
