Pochettino To Make 1 Major Change – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Line-up To Face Burnley

Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Burnley In The Premier League

After enduring a devastating defeat against champions-elect Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur will have to brush off the dirt and travel to Burnley for their next game. Spurs are currently at 7th place and are one point below their hosts but this will be a good chance for them to pick up the much-needed 3 points and cruise ahead. Spurs have been rather inconsistent this season but they have a good squad and will try to push for a victory on Saturday.

Team News

Manager Mauricio Pochettino will be happy with the return of Davinson Sanchez. The player has completed his three-game suspension and will be in contention for a starting spot. Meanwhile, Toby Alderweireld and Victor Wanyama continue to be sidelined.

Probable Tottenham XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

Lloris may have conceded quite a number of goals against City but there is no denying that Spurs would have lost by a greater margin if not for him. He is expected to retain his spot.

Kieran Trippier (RB)

Trippier has been quite solid in the right-back position but he struggled against Leroy Sane. However, Pochettino might just deploy him against Burnley to bring some stability at the back.

Eric Dier (CB)

Much like Trippier, even Dier was poor against City but he will be looking for redemption when they travel to face Burnley.

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

Dier is expected to be partnered by Vertonghen at the heart of the defence. He managed to put up a relatively solid display against City and his influence will be needed.

Ben Davies (LB)

Rose was rather shoddy against City, which is likely to prompt Pochettino to start Davies ahead of him.

Harry Winks (CM)

Winks struggled against City but he is one of Spurs’ key players in the middle. He even helps Dembele improve his game, which should be enough for him to earn a start.

Mousa Dembele (CM)

Dembele does well with Winks as his partner and Pochettino will need both players to be in sublime form to help Spurs steal 3 points from Burnley.

Christian Eriksen (RW)

Eriksen has been far from his best this term but he is expected to start against Burnley.

Harry Kane

Dele Alli (CAM)

The same goes for Alli. Even though he was quite brilliant against reigning European champions Real Madrid, his influence has waned. However, the game against Burnley will be a good chance for him to work his magic.

Heung-min Son (LW)

Son’s influence has been incredible this season and he has slowly but surely established himself as an attacking threat.

Harry Kane (CF)

Pochettino will hope Kane scores a flurry of goals against Burnley since Tottenham are in dire need of a win.
