Pochettino to field an unchanged XI – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Tottenham lineup to face Southampton

Predicted Tottenham Lineup To Face Southampton In The Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur will travel to the St. Mary’s Stadium to face Southampton on Sunday, hardly a month after beating them 5-2 in the reverse fixture. Spurs have been in good form lately and will come into this match after notching up a 4-0 win against Everton. At present, the North London side are in 5th place in the league standings. A win against Southampton can bring them level on points with Liverpool and Chelsea, who are placed 3rd and 4th respectively.

Team News

Harry Winks and Danny Rose are both expected to be out for another month as they recover from their injuries. However, Spurs fans will be happy to know that Toby Alderweireld is nearing a return and is likely to feature next month.

Possible Tottenham Hotspur XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Hugo Lloris (GK)

The first-choice keeper continues to be a sturdy presence for Tottenham and is expected to be ready to take on his usual duty in goal against Southampton.

Serge Aurier (RB)

Aurier arguably put in one of his best performances against Everton and it is highly possible that Pochettino could hand him a start on Sunday.

Davinson Sanchez (CB)

Sanchez’s blocks and tackles have proven to be quite beneficial for Tottenham this season and he knows how to use his height to his advantage. Hence, the player is likely to start against the Saints.

Jan Vertonghen

Jan Vertonghen (CB)

Vertonghen works quite well with Sanchez and they can shut down a lot of attacks when together. A certain starter for Tottenham.

Ben Davies (LB)

With Rose out for the considerable future, Davies is expected to take up the role of the left-back once more.

Eric Dier (DM)

Dier is quite effective at what he does and it will be interesting to see how he fares against Dusan Tadic, who has been quite influential for the Saints.

Mousa Dembele (CM)

Dembele works quite well with Dier, which should see Pochettino deploy them together in central midfield.

Christian Eriksen (RW)

Eriksen seems to have developed a newfound sense of confidence that has taken his game up by a notch. It was evident against Everton and Pochettino will be hoping that he repeats some of that magic on Sunday as well.

Son Heung-min

Dele Alli (CAM)

Alli’s creative contributions and trickery during offensive plays have become quite crucial to Tottenham’s game in general. Alli should start against the Saints.

Heung-Min Son (LW)

Son has transformed himself this season and has easily been one of Tottenham’s most influential players. He is menacing as an attacker and lethal as a creative outlet and Pochettino will include him in the lineup.

Harry Kane (CF)

There seems to be no end to his goalscoring exploits and the player will be looking to get his name on the scoresheet once more, against Southampton.
