Player Ratings (With Match Highlights): Find Out How Chelsea Players Are Rated After A Dire Performance At Liberty Stadium

Chelsea Player Ratings vs Swansea

Chelsea’s hopes for a European slot into even the Europa League next season were dealt a blow as they lost 1-0 to Swansea. This was the first time that Swansea had defeated Chelsea in the Premier League but the three points were more important as the Swans all but confirmed their safety this season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson got the only goal of the game but it was a rather poor showing from Chelsea especially with the news of Antonio Conte coming to pick up the manager’s role next season. Chelsea stay in 10th place in the league after the first Premier League defeat under Guus Hiddink.

We look back at a dire performance from the Blues and rate the player’s performances.

Asmir Begovic – 5/10

Begovic couldn’t really do much to stop the Swansea goal but he did look nervous in goal for Chelsea.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 5/10

Montero ran Azpilicueta ragged in the first half but the second half was a better story for the Chelsea defender.

Matt Miazga – 3/10

Miazga was subbed before the start of the second half and he never looked comfortable in the game.

Branislav Ivanovic – 5/10

Ivanovic was played in the heart of defence but he also didn’t have a good game for Chelsea, though he was miles better than Miazga.

Baba Rahman – 6/10

Rahman might not have gotten a lot of chances to perform but he did have a decent game for the Blues this time.

John Obi Mikel – 5/10

Mikel was shifted from midfield to defence and had a decent game there but didn’t really do well in the middle of the park.

Cesc Fabregas – 6/10

The Spanish star was one of the few players who did well in the game and had a few good passes but nothing that great for the Blues.

Oscar – 5/10

Oscar was one of the players who couldn’t really get into the game, he had a few good touches but that was about it.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 7/10

Ruben was probably Chelsea’s best player and he really troubled Swansea, it was a shame he was substituted in the game.

Pedro – 4/10

Pedro Chelsea debut
Pedro

The Spanish player was another of the players who went missing for the Blues in this game.

Alexandre Pato – 6/10

Pato might not have scored but he did do a good job in the attack though he should have scored from the chances he was provided.

Substitutes:

Kenedy – 6/10

Kenedy was brought in place of Miazga in the second half but again didn’t really do much in the game.

Bertrand Traore – 6/10

The youngster did well with the ball but rarely had the time or space to do much for Chelsea.

Radamel Falcao – NA

The Colombian didn’t really have a lot of time to do much in the game.
