Arsene Wenger’s side welcomed domestic rivals Tottenham on Sunday at the Emirates in yet another north London derby encounter. The game started off quite well, as the two sides looked desperate for all three points. A win would have put Arsenal on top of the points table after Manchester City had a goalless draw with Aston Villa earlier in the day. Despite that, things did not go as per plan for the home side, as the game got going.
Harry Kane gave Spurs the lead in the 32nd minute, as Danny Rose’s lob left Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker as mere spectators. The visitors went into the break with a narrow lead, after a half which they more or less dominated, after scoring the goal.
After the interval, Wenger’s team fought hard to turn things around. Super sub Kieran Gibbs came off the bench and equalized in the 77th minute, as Mesut Ozil claimed yet another assist to his name.
Arsenal fans reacted on Twitter to show how they felt after the game ended in a 1-1 draw. Here are some of the reactions of the fans:
Very lucky to scrape a draw. Awful performance by Arsenal. Congrats @GreatOrmondSt, you’re the only winners. £2.5k from @Lord_Sugar and I.

A point against the scum, I’ll take that. A lot of tired players out there today but we dug deep and got the least that we deserved. #COYG

We were poor and trailing & with very limited options on the bench but still managed to earn a point. Sign of a title winning side. #COYG

Would love someone like Diego Simeone to take over from Wenger. We need some of his aggression and fight on the pitch! #COYG

On the other hand 10 players missing makes a huge difference. With a full squad we would’ve beaten the scum today #COYG
